Abyssinia

We thought we would try this restaurant out as we love Ethiopian food and have fond memories associated with it. The Good: the food was excellent, we got the meat and veggie sharing platter. There was a little of a number of dishes on both. It came pretty fast and was very nicely presented. The price was very reasonable for Jeddah restaurant prices and there were a couple of wait staff who spoke English. The OK: The atmosphere was ok. A lot of smoke from the various incense burners nearby meant it was sometimes hard to see across our own table. The table spacing was a little tight but manageable. The restaurant itself was nicely done out with many Ethiopian pictures and plenty of Ethiopians frequenting it. The Not-So-Good: While the food came fast, the drinks did not. The staff unfortunately seemed more intent on their relationships with each other than with the customers. It was hard to get their attention and even when we did, it took multiple attempts to get our drinks. Parking (while not their problem) was tricky, we were lucky to get a space pretty close by, but there isn't much in that area and fills up fast.

Its my 1st time and i had a lovely welcoming from the stuff ,, honestly The food is really delicious and tasty we were little confused with the menu but Mardyah was super helpful and she explained everything and helped us, Meat Zegny and Chicken Zegny Is the best Ethiopian food Thank a lot

Fantastic Ethiopian experience! We tried three main dishes and the flavors were deeply satisfying and rich. The injera was perfectly fresh. Excellent service and a warm atmosphere. Highly recommend!

Authentic Ethiopian food. The meat was nice, and the atmosphere and the service were top-notch. You are greeted with smiles and excellent customer service. The food personally for me was not the best I've had and mainly due to the bread choice as it can be a little sour and salty and thin however everything else was decent.

Had a great experience at Abyssinia Restaurant! I absolutely loved the warm and welcoming atmosphere, the friendly staff, and most of all—the food. Every dish was bursting with authentic Ethiopian flavor. Amazing job by the team! For those who don’t know, Abyssinia is the old name for Ethiopia, and this restaurant truly lives up to the name with its traditional dishes and cultural vibe. Highly recommended for anyone who wants to enjoy a real taste of Ethiopia!
